Wow, well this was unexpected. I knew that this wasn’t a bad idea – hold a comic book show, help out a former dealer who has fallen on hard times and terrible health in addition to losing her husband quite suddenly. But the feedback has been so strongly positive, I’m blown away.

I’m particularly excited about the support coming in from many comic book artists and writers in the area who will be at the show and bring signed copies of their work and/or artwork that we can auction off during the show. Comic auction master John Paul of NJComicBookShows.com will be auctioning off the work and many mini-collections of comics at noon on the 15th.

Artists and writers currently confirmed include:

  • Paul Castigliani, Author of Archie Americana Series, Archie’s Weird Mysteries and much more
  • Joey EndresWriter/Illustrator/Publisher
  • Will Torres, Pop Culture Artist recently featured in the Official Walking Dead magazine #4 with a pin-up illustration
  • Emilio Velez Jr., Creator, Illustrator and Writer of “The Dodgeball Teens”
  • Graig Weich, Creator, Gekido, Ravedactyl

I’ll keep this list updated as it grows. In the meantime, please, if you’re in the area, stop by and support this fundraiser. Prices start at 35 cents per comic – and deals will be made!

Dec. 15, 9 am – 3 pm
40 S. Fullerton, Montclair, NJ
Enter on the Crescent St. side of the building.

Here’s where to find the show:

    Mr. Scheckel –

Really like the Peanuts image you used w/ this post. Would you know what book or publication it came from?

    Thanks in advance –

Thanks! This strip was originally published on June 22, 1952. It combines the words from the first panel with a crop of the image from the third panel. I’m not sure who colored it, as I found this years ago on Flickr (I think) and the link I saved for it is no longer active. But you can see the original here: http://www.gocomics.com/peanuts/1952/06/22
